Breaking news coming out of the Russian mainland by rescued sailors of a destroyed Russian Republic naval security convoy on the fringes of neutral water. As of March 4, 2017 the Second Russian Empire, a nation clouded in crimes against humanity, has declared war on the lone Russian Republic. Sometime around 9 PM, Russian Imperial tanks rolled across the DMZ line that separated the two Slavic nations that hold near-polar opposite ideals. Callahan Jacsnov I, self-proclaimed Emperor of the Second Russian Empire, calls the war a conflict to rid all filth against God from Russian lands and to unite the entirety of the Russian mainland under his banner. The navy and air force of both nations have also started skirmishes between one another at sea and over the skies. The sudden surprise attack was supported by one of the largest air raids to hit the Russian Mainland since the infamous Operation Barbarossa from the early 1940s as Russian Imperial bombers hit cities and towns to strike fear into the hearts of the people while the Russian Imperial navy gains an upper hand as they strike many coastal cities and military dockyards.
As of now, the Russian Republic capital of Mirny is starting to be evacuated of any civilians that choose to flee the aggressors while many stay behind to protect their homes and their freedoms, both the military and civilian fighters are currently building impromptu defenses to slow down any Russian Imperial attacks on the capital. Etrius Lucius Adorine, current leader of the Russian Republic, has ordered all cities and towns near the battlefields be evacuated to ensure less civilian casualties, dubbed Operation Savior. Currently, neither nation has any allies to back them up in this war either by supplying their war efforts or sending in troops to aid in the battles.
